After the incredible sell-out success of the last two years, Minotaur Theatre Company brings The Vagina Monologues to the LCR as part of International Women's Day. With the proceeds going to the local charity 'Leeway,' who provide support and shelter against domestic violence and abuse. Female students from UEA Drama put on a celebration of women through some incredibly funny and extremely moving monologues.
The Vagina Monologues come from a verbatim of real interviews conducted by writer, performer and activist Eve Ensler. They are now performed all over the world.
Minotaur is working alongside UEA Feminist Society to create a huge celebration of International Women's Day in the LCR and Hive on Monday 9th March, there will also be guest speakers, bands and other performances throughout the day.
The Vagina Monologues are not anti-men, they are simply a celebration of women (and at times, of men too). These monologues confront topics ranging from abuse to sexual awakening, the sad and disturbing to the witty and lighthearted. Whatever your sex, join us in the journey to equality through this exploration of what makes a woman. Rise with us.
